Runs perfectly. Pony electric start?? It was my dad’s baby and he had a heart attack and passed. We will likely be selling. 😢
1950’s D6 Dozer. Our dad rebuilt it and moved a lot of dirt with it.
Sorry about your dad. Looking at the land... iowa, illinois, wisconsin? The Cat older than 1967 I guess, a real expert will be along shortly.
Should be a D6-8U if it is narrow gauge or a D6-9U if wide gauge.
From the picture looks good enough, but I sure would not want to put my money on it from this picture alone.
They where built from 1948 until 1958. Parts can be found to rebuild most any part.
From watching local adds ( California ) they are not selling very fast, maybe more in your part of the world where there were not as many to begin with. A nice looking one (again from one picture) is getting close to 2 months. I think the current asking is $9000.

What do you mean close to 2 months? What other kind of pictures should I take and post!? My dad had it tarped and on the other side he had metal up to protect from it getting wet. Sadly most people want all hydraulic and could not operate it like he did. It has been rebuilt.

Yes, central Illinois.
Where at in central Illinois, I live in central Illinois?
You know you need this one Clayton : ) plus if you take a look, you can identify the serial number etc.

It has been advertised for 2 months, and nobody wants it for that price. Personal I am not going to buy something like this without driving it. Steering clutches and brakes seem to rust up and sticking faster than they used to.
Not anything about you or this tractor, very hard to evaluate track wear from pictures. No matter how many or who takes them. If something is low priced not so much of a concern for me. If the tractor is anywhere near as good as you are saying it easily should ear back the $10,000 price, like the one local is advertised for. But even sitting in my yard I don't want to work that hard anymore.
From your title asking "What all do you know about this D6?" I did not know which facts you are looking for. Many come looking for what year it was made. Or wanting an idea of valve.
I have farmed since 1982 with 9u D6's. Back in 83 I put $10,000 of parts into the first one, and more over the years after that. The only the injector pump and the front idlers have not been apart on that tractor while in my care. By now I have no idea without going and counting how many 9u D 6's are out in the yard. Only one did I pay much for, but it was the only one ready to work when unloaded here. So my idea of value may not agree with yours. But I have seen what a 9u D6 is capable of, and fixed a lot of parts of them.
