I've got a Grace Track hydraulic unit off a D7G that I would like to put on the back of our 8 to pull a hydraulic scraper. I don't have the right shaft to run the pump. If someone had the correct shaft, that would be great, otherwise I'm looking for the shaft that goes into the rear end of an 8 to run a winch or cable unit. I'm told one from a K would work as well. So far, I've struck out at salvage yards. Thanks. Dan

Dph,

Can you give me a length and spline count? I have several shafts, I'll see if one will work.

Looks like it would be around 24.5 inches. The internal coupler for the 8 would be much larger in diameter than the outer coupler for the pump. I'll see if I can find a spline count Glen. Thanks.

I'll double check my measurements but we were at 24.5 or 24.25 inches. The female coupler for the grace track pump has 14 splines and the shaft it slides onto measures 1.25 inches. It's a common coupler, I can source it if we make our own shaft. I'm having trouble sourcing the female coupler that goes into the back of the 8. It has 10 splines and slides on a shaft that measure 2 and 3/8. Thanks.

Should add the diameters were taking with a ruler. I'm told a shaft to run a winch would be shorter, with identical couplers of the larger size on each end. I don't know what the shaft for the ccu had on the outside end.

I'll add the dozer currently has a live power cable unit with the shaft under the floorboards. I won't have need for it anymore and have heard they used to be desirable.

I lucked out and found the correct shaft. Hopefully get it bolted up in the next few.days. The cable unit won't be of use to me. I don't know what fair market value is, but if someone was interested I wouldn't hold them up.
