No room at the inn!
As mentioned in other threads, I have TOO MANY D4s here! Time for someone else to enjoy owning one…
7U 25,103 electric pony equipped; live front BeGe hydraulic unit. 41 pump guard, partial belly pan/hook will be removed prior to sale.
Machine starts east, steers and brakes nicely. Grousers are purposely worn for walnut/almond orchard floors; bushings have been turned and noticeably worn, but plenty of life left. Decent rail height and lifetime rollers.
FOB Yuba City, CA (North of Sacramento International Airport 35 minutes). $4750.00 USD, 10% Discount for ACMOC members! I’ll probably donate some of the proceeds to the scholarship fund and some for chapter 15 activities. Thanks for looking. Juiceman.

WOW those fenders look very heavy! They appear to be 1/2" plate?

***There is a "lip" or "hem" welded along the edges making it look thick. Without measuring, I want to guess 1/4" or 5/16" material. I think they will unbolt in 2 sections*** Still much heavier than the stock "tin" fenders offered from the factory. I think I have a semi rough set of originals and some other goodies to toss in if anyone is interested. I was impressed with the ride when I took it out for a few laps yesterday. Very smooth compared to a D2 orchard machine. JM

Check Busters - go with it? Some of those are tough to find today. How can you compare a bucking bronco (D2 tailseat) to a well broke quarter horse (7U D4)? Quite the statement from JM who just loves those D2's!

The check breakers remain on it. In all my years of buying "stuff", I have only encountered one set ever for sale at an auction, and shocked to see them sell for over $800.00 by themselves! I might have to bring Professor Fugly to Tulare with my tandem Goble ridger and show folks how irrigation checks are put up. I know CTS wants this unit, but the pony starts too easily for a guy like him...JM

I’ve seen check breakers before what are they used for and is “check breakers” the correct terminology?

The ones pictured are flipped in the "up" position, when turned over to the lowered position, they push dirt out of the path of the track pads, for a smoother ride, say over a freshly made irrigation ridge. No climbing over a ridge or irrigation "check" that is 2' high, you can drive thru it, rather than over it. A must have for someone that uses an orchard machine for putting up irrigation ridges/checks/dikes. Even when cross disking an orchard, sometimes the disk isn't adjusted properly to keep the front gang from throwing a mound of dirt towards the tree head/berm, so its the same; the check breakers push the loose soil away and you don't get thrown off the machine climbing a hump. Thank you Juiceman for the explanation I can totally visualize how they work, there’s a D2 not far from me that has them on it. I’m really slobbering over trying to acquire it! That would make no. 7 D2’s if I could equire it!

You had better make it "Lucky number 7" before someone else snags it! I have 5U 16,971 here as an orchard machine equipped with check breakers and live hydraulics, not to mention dual starting set up; pony and direct electric. Its a fun one to own and operate. JM

So looking at the pictures I took I wonder if the check breakers on this D2 are cat oem or aftermarket?

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
