Good evening,
I need to buy an RD6 cylinder head and cylinder liner for a 1937 SN:2H2493 (that is before the D6 changes). I will pay the shipping to Oklahoma.
I am told a head from a 6 cylinder tractor of the same period is the same.
Please let me know.
Thanks,
Scooter

The liner from an RD-8 will fit I believe also. Might try searching the part numbers on Machinery Trader. I recently worked over an R4 and got most of the parts found on there.

Good afternoon,
Thank you for the reply. I do not have the correct parts book, I did not find my serial number until after I bought the book (it is for the later 1937 type).
Perhaps someone will be willing to share the part numbers of the head, cylinder and piston?
I looked on Machinery Trader as you suggested though using the categories and did not see what I need at this time. I will keep trying.
Thanks,
Scooter

Hello Scooter, my RD6 2H1 to 2H3247 parts book says

Head is 7B3257 used on tractors 2H1200 up
Cylinder liner is 2B3712 with a 2B6463 "upper gasket" (copper I'd assume) and 2B6461 "Seal" (lower water seal - rubber)
Piston is 3B6456

Good luck
Mike

Chad,
I just removed the valves. I am glad we brought that up. It is amazing what damage water can cause. I knew this head leaked water after the repair 20 years ago. I drained the water while it was running to keep it out of the oil, but found that did not work. I used it to build my house and a motocross track for me and the kids. Since then, we would get it out and play each year.

I will send you a PM with my contact information.
Thank you,
Scooter

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
