Hi, I'm new to ACMOC. My father was a member for a long time. Since he passed I inherited his No.11 Auto Patrol. I wanted to see if it was possible to find a horizontal side draft pony engine carburetor. For some reason it seems everyone has the downdraft carburetor. Is the side draft more rare? The engine number is 6F248. I couldn't find a chassis tag on it. For last 30 years or so he had a 2 cylinder onan carb fastened to it with a homemade adapter, which seemed to work alright for it. Judging by all the info this seems to be a 1934 or 1935, but don't know for sure. Any info on that would be appreciated and possibly finding the right carb would be appreciated also.

The carb you are looking for is very similar to the ones used on the Cat Ten, and Fifteen tractors. The choke lever and the throttle lever are different along with a few other minor things. I can not help with the carb. A couple of different air cleaner assemblies were used with that carb. I have an extra of the earlier one but I would have to look at the condition of the air cleaner itself before I would say it is for sale
Thanks

Thanks Ken. Yeah this pony engine set up with that manifold and carb seems extremely rare. I would use a down draft carb and manifold if I had to.

I found the chassis number today, it is 9F100, so a 1935 with the 6F engine.

I'm looking at my 9K parts manual for the flywheel clutch S/N 9K2854 -UP also 7T1-7T2031 .
I got a clutch from Scrappy Industries LLC. From an early 9K with a D4600
1 PLATE ....6B8474
2 PLATE ....2B2977
1 PLATE ....6B3214
Will this clutch work? Sam@Scrappy gave it to me but shipping of the 112lb clutch ran me a whopping $393 to have it shipped to Alaska. If this clutch will work for you let me know.

I think I would just need levers and pins. The lever must be bent because no matter how much I tighten that nut it is still a good half inch from the throw out bearing. It also all comes loose again on just that one lever. I had it working but it came loose and Im at square one again. But I'll have to look at some numbers because this is a 9F machine with a 6F diesel. D6100

Looking at your picture and and rereading your post, I can also see not only the lever (9B337) but the nut (in my book 6B5293) or the screw (7B552😎 could also have stripped threads causing your unwanted self-adjusting

FYI  Early models designated "No.12 Diesel Auto Patrol" were renamed "No.12 Diesel Motor Grader" mid-year in 1939.

In that picture I had just screwed the nut back on halfway. The threads on both look fine and it gets tight, I used a half inch drive, foot and a half long, snap on ratchet, it was tight. Lol. But even doing that there is like a half before the throw out bearing even touches that lever. And the other two have full movement and are engaged right when you push the pedal. But I did notice that it looked like the lever was riding on the splines of the shaft. Almost like the pin and lever are wore out. I'm just going to have to take it apart and see.
