Subject:  Seeking Large Diameter Forward Idlers for Caterpillar 5U-D2 Tractor

Hello ACMOC members:

I am trying to locate (2 ea) of Caterpillar P/N:  8F4360 IDLERS in good condition for my tractor.  My tractor is a Caterpillar 5U-D2, serial number:  12409.  I am running a tool-bar bulldozer blade and the operator's manual recommends idlers of 23 1/2" diameter to replace the 19" front idlers that I am currently running.  It's my understanding that the current 30 link tracks that I am running on my four roller track frame will have to be increased to 31 links.  Can anyone in this forum help me locate these parts?  Thanks from David in Northern CA.

I wished I could help you. I would like to get some large idlers for some of my machines as well. You might try Associated Tractor in Stockton, CA. Tom Bentz the owner might know of someone.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
