Subject: Seeking Large Diameter Forward Idlers for Caterpillar 5U-D2 Tractor
Hello ACMOC members:
I am trying to locate (2 ea) of Caterpillar P/N: 8F4360 IDLERS in good condition for my tractor. My tractor is a Caterpillar 5U-D2, serial number: 12409. I am running a tool-bar bulldozer blade and the operator's manual recommends idlers of 23 1/2" diameter to replace the 19" front idlers that I am currently running. It's my understanding that the current 30 link tracks that I am running on my four roller track frame will have to be increased to 31 links. Can anyone in this forum help me locate these parts? I wished I could help you. I would like to get some large idlers for some of my machines as well. You might try Associated Tractor in Stockton, CA. Tom Bentz the owner might know of someone.
