A buddy of mine found this ad. Worth posting to keep it from the scrappers!

https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/zip/d/portland-free-caterpillar-d4/6860061116.html

Looks like a 7U.

Craigslist need to be more proactive about identifying scammers and getting rid of them. My favorite is the almost new Miller welders, engine drive & Syncrowave for $1000.00. A quick search showed the same unit for sale all over the country. They must be collecting email addresses because I made the mistake of enquiring about one but never got a reply.

It's self policing, anytime you see something you think is a scam be sure to hit the "Prohibited" button as will others and the ad's will be flagged for removal promptly. The ad that was posted has already been flagged this way.

Thanks,
Jordan

Sorry gang. I should have thought of that being a scam. Of course too good to be true.

I just have hope that people don't do that. There are great folks out there too that use CL.

Sure, I know all that, but when the same pic is plastered all across America why not have it auto deleted? It's getting hard to find anything local because you have to shift through ads from all over the country when it's supposed to be for local merchandise.

a little CL trick i use is to search the name of the town instead of the thing i am looking for. that way i see only what my neighbors are selling.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
