I have heard that a starter for a H Farmall will fit the 2U pony starter housing. I looked at mine here and it looks similar walking 50 ft. between them but have not physically tried it. They have the same looking engagement lever also.

If it helps, I happen to know than an H farmall (and practically all other gas farmalls) have a 10 tooth pinion and rotates CCW (looking at the pinion end). The starter on my D7 17A pony has a 9 tooth pinion but also rotates CCW. I have no idea what's on a D8.

My very early H has a single lock bolt. Might have been more than one style on them. Dang memory is not as good as it once was.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
