I heard stories as I grew up from old timers, in the depression days using blocks of oak wood in place of carrier rollers. A guy using the name King of Obsolete comes here with questions time to time but has a blog under King of Obsolete. He uses wood blocks in the ice and snow of eastern Canada. KOO's blog he has many picture to see how he has done it. But KOO may remove the whole tower, which could be a lot of work just move it around the yard.
Hopefully the real rollers will show up. But something to keep in mind if don't want to wait.
Thanks for the suggestion Ray, I think removing the towers might be my best option for now, I'd rather put in the extra effort now than to go ahead and move it and cause damage that I will have to fix down the track.
Just the rollers? Are they center mount or offset? Where are you located?
I'm in need of the entire roller assembly, all I have is the pedestals but the are missing the rollers. They're the offset type that carried through to the 8R, 2U, 13A. My part number is the 9B565, the type that is held on the shaft with three cap screws. I don't know whether these are interchangeable with the type that are held on by a nut threaded onto the roller shaft. I'm located in Victoria, Australia.
Thanks
