Posting on behalf of my father who has been storing a 1936 D4600, 6 cylinder, 53 HP Caterpillar Generator. He asked me to help make an evaluation of such a piece of equipment and found my way here to this community. Located in southeast iowa, the generator was used as backup power on our family hog farm operation and prior to that was used as an exciter for a larger generator. Any expertise would be greatly appreciated!

Let me see if I can find out what the capacity is. And just to confirm, by capacity you are referring to how much power it generates when running?

Yes that is what I meant. Also is it single or 3 phase?

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
