Hi,

I need a radiator cap for my D4 2T series. The part number listed in my book is 2A1972. The threads were gone on mine, and it jumped off during some rough going. Thanks.

My local Cat Dealer here in Australia is listing that cap for around $US110, a bit spendy, I seem to recall they were available in the USA for around $40 or $50 a year or 2 ago?
regards
Mike

my dealer In Tasmania wanted A$146 for a D4 7U cap (probably differerent though) - so even more spendy down here. Oh and the brass neck for the D4 and D2's is now no longer available anywhere in the World!

Thanks for the responses. Yes, the 7U cap is different. I hope that someone here is willing to sell one a little cheaper. That is a bit precious.

Look up Florin Tractor Parts on Google, they are in Sacramento, Ca., I find them a good source for genuine and aftermarket parts.

Mike, take a look at the second sticky from the top in the discussion forums. Florin Tractor and several others are located there.
