Hi

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good supplier of D2 engine parts for a 5U. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thankyou.

I've got a D2 crank, bearings and three pistons with rods and bearins. Crank is good, pistons were stuck and I pulled them, not sure of their condition except that they have lots of combustion residue/varnish.

What do you need?

Jim, in western Kentucky

Is there an updated parts book,,,or are the original part numbers still good at the dealer?

Use the original part numbers. Cat's system will upgrade the numbers if there are newer numbers.

Many thanks to everyone,

I've starting to take the machine to bits and I think I'm in for liners and rings, the pistons look OK. My local CAT dealer can supply them but I'm looking at options as they seem expensive. Lets face it tho' for 60 years old you cant complain and it amazing you can still get the bits, there are not many manufacturers that can say that!

Long live CAT tractors 😊

It's not just about looks good. Check ring lands for proper specs.
