Hi all,

I am all the way down in Tasmania, Australia with a little D2 5U. I am currently in desperate need of a magneto for the pony motor. I could even get away with the internal shaft and gear if someone has a wrecked one? mines snapped and bent the shaft so its a mess!

Cheers in advanced.

Hi Team,
be aware that a loose pony motor flywheel can cause this to happen along with well worn pony engine main bearings.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

I have an eisemann off a D2 that is shooting a spark on the test bench but I using an American bosch on my D2
because it suppose to be a better magneto and I would try to get one of those. If you get stuck let me know as I
dont need the eisemann.
I had the American bosch rebuild buy a bloke in Toowoomba Queensland Australia his name is John Davis and
he has been rebuilding magnetos for cat machines for years at a very resonable price and he might have one
His no is 07 46382144

He also has a bolt on electric start conversion for most cat motors from D2 through to D9

Regards Glen

My limited experience with the Boschs and Eisemanns is that the Eisemann is just as capable. As with any machine, neglect will lead to their undoing, even a Bosch. I wouldn't shy away from the Eisemann - give it a tuneup and you'll be good to go. I had my 3J's Eisemann rebuilt and it's a shocker!

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
