I have a 1956 D2 with direct start, and I am looking for the baffle plate, which mounts between the batteries and the engine. I guess it acts as a heat shield. The part number is 6H1492. I can e reached at 717-826-4800.

I was looking for one also but in the end I had to fabricate one.
Search for the thread " D2 - Direct Diesel Start - Battery Box" in the Discussion forum.

I recently sold a very late D2 DE start machine. Perhaps the buyer will see this posting, and offer up his for sale? I do believe my former machine had this part. Best of luck. JM
