I have for sale a 1950 d6 9u4620sp for sale. the engine was transplanted last year from D6 9u 6222 (1951 model year).

the diesel runs strong. has all new oils and filters. unit has dry clutch. installed hydraulic hard nose and 6a blade. final drives have had 4 new bellows seals installed and new bearings installed as well. sprockets are in good shape. replaced all oils in entire machine. stripped entire unit down and sandblasted and painted everything. rebuilt the equalizer springs. unit has full stump guards. engine has reversible fan. rebuilt the pony engine as it had excessive crank endplay. has a brand new battery in it. pony is electric start, but starts on the first pull with a rope as well. installed canopy and sweeps off of a 1957 d6 9u. electrical system has been completely rewired front to back. all connections are soldered and heat shrinked. lights are new and work well. generator charges about 5 amps at idle, and 20 amps at full rpm. when all lights are on generator is still charging about 3 to 5 amps until battery becomes fully charged. installed a new seat. thermostats are working good and engine warms up nicely at 20 below without covering in radiator. steering clutches and brakes work very well. rebuilt the clutch, throttle and hydraulic control linkages to remove all slop and play.

Asking $10,000 cdn.

I also have some d6 parts as well, I have a complete working cable blade hardnose and ccu, all control levers are in good shape. have the c frame to go with it.

I have a rear mounted hydraulic pump
I have a d6n hyster winch.
I have a d318 engine block and heads (engine is seized as it sat open for many years before I got it) has all accessories still on it.
d6 pony block and intake manifold
fuel tank & fenders
set of tracks that are extremely stretched but have good grouser pads on them
final drives
transmission
dry clutch assembly.
good radiator

I'm curious as to why you'd be selling after all that work.
Seems like a keeper to me.

I Thought someone would enjoy it, Maybe there's people out there that have a love for old machinery but do not have the abilities or time to restore one on their own. now they can buy one that is already done. Or maybe some old farmer or contractor wants to buy a nice looking old cat to play with in his retirement?

I only have a 5 acre plot, i have a good running D6 5r tht i can use for any of my needs, i also have another 2 9u's sitting out back that need repairs. I took two machines and made into one really good machine in order to maybe finance some of the repairs on my other units.

i would love to keep this cat, but finances dictate otherwise. My original intention when purchasing these 9u's was to build one out of two for sale, hopefully i can recover my costs.

that price is very cheap in my view...but I can understand your reasons for selling!

mike, Thanks for the offer. i'll keep it in mind.

Steve, How far are you from me? shipping may be prohibitive? the winch is currently mounted on a late model 9u, coupler and all controls are there. even has a cable on it. has a really stout integral hitch in the bottom of the winch, something i haven't seen on these old pelters before, but it may be fairly common. i want 2500 bucks for the winch, stub shaft and controls.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
