calling dan…. the big time awaits u 👍👍
Mike--i sent the dude a PM but haven't heard back---however those D8 14A's in the graveyard i found i could have my pick at $2000 each so that would have been a better deal--but gosh are they big!
Dan is that graveyard in the North-East? There's no way I could take on a 14A as I don't have any buddies with lowboys thank god, but I can always drool and dream (a 270hp 36A is actually my dream but...)
Neil,
I believe both options for Dan are on Long Island. That's a good start. No bridges or tunnels for him, unless he would take one of them up to his Cat Mancave in Massachusetts. Now you might think of throwing in with Dan where you could both have a piece of the action. Not sure of the condition, but $2000 for a 14A is cheap!
I did not realize you fell in love with Chum Duffy's 36A when we drove it around at Brownville! Now the 46A with powershift would really get you to the "must have one" decision.
Always fun to dream. I used to do more than I would admit, when watching YouTube videos of D8 14As in action. Who knew I would end up with one like I did!

Jan and Neil---a D8 in my front yard would certainly be out of character!! would definitely need to move it to Ma.

By the way I built my house in 1969 completely by me and my wife. I dug the hole with my R2, placed 1550 concrete blocks for the foundation with my wife mixing all the mortar and then framed and sheathed thru the winter---moved in after a year of work---still living there![]()

Good on you for building your own house. A D8 in the yard would add some pizazz to the whole neighborhood. They would have something to talk about. Don't dissapoint them.😉😉😉
I think O I H has nailed it. Looks like plenty of room on the lawn. When not using it flower pots on the track and fenders, blend right in.
Dan,
You never know what the neighbors are going to say. The day my rusty FIFTEEN arrived missing nearly all the sheet metal and having no paint visible anywhere, my neighbor Mike across the street came over with a very inquisitive look on his face. He looked at me and said "Jan. WHY????" I told him "Hey it is my hobby and I will restore it. You watch"
About two years later it emerged from my back yard heading to its first show. It had all the sheet metal in place, a new Hahn seat and gleaming Caterpillar Hi Way Yellow paint. Again Mike came across the street. His jaw dropped as he exclaimed "I can't believe that is the same machine. You should park that in the front yard so I can look at it! It is beautiful!"
It is now in the garage and when the door is up, Mike can look in and see it. So can everyone else driving by and boy do they look! Great fun to watch as they notice it for the first time.
A bit of yellow would complement that nice pinkish bush. Unlike the bush, it would bloom yellow all year!
