I really like this pic,I have an 1/35 scalemodel of an 17/19 Ruston-Bucyrus Excavator, only it is verry hard to find pics of that one.
I would love to know what type of Excavator is in use in this picture?

Grtz!

Back probably in the later 50s and a little later once in awhile a D4 or D7 old army tractor would come in to the Cat dealer where I worked. Someone on here awhile back said that there were some D7s assembled down at the Berwick Pa. ACF Army tank factory but I don,t know.I lived about 30 or 35 miles from the plant and it sure employed lots of people during the 2nd. World War as I remember.

SJ, the blade on one of my D7's has a tag on it from American Car & Foundry, XD7 - under license to LeTourneau, always wondered what their involvement was for the war demand, this blade is rigid, not the knockdown type, no adjustment for pitch, like LeTourneau blades, looked like a quick version to build, not many of these around, only other one I have seen was JDNUT's from the northwest. Funny thing about the data plate on this one, I had been trying to get this one to run, to get it back here but the motor was stuck, while standing there, it literally fell off, 60 some odd years it took for the welds to rust off, what are the odds of you actually seeing it happen though ?

Billy, I wasn,t aware that the dozers were assembled at Berwick until someone mentioned it on here some time ago but tanks were their big production down there and me living that far from Berwick a bus came to my little town and hauled workers down to the plant.I was in my middle teens then so remember so much about the plant and the war. They road tested the tanks outside of town there on the highways and I,m sure the people put up with a lot of noise from them but it had to be done.
