I need to know what size the track adjuster nut is on a D4 7U. Is it 2 1/4"?
Will any wrench work.....Northern Tools, Tractor Supply, etc. sell large wrenches....will these work?

Thanks!

I got mine from a ship-breaking yard, can't remember the size but it fits both the D2 and the D7. At the time they wanted 50 cents/lb. and you couldn't (we didn't) spread it with a five-foot cheater!

Ship breakers are hard to find now unless you go to Korea or India or some such place, thanks to EPA. Check out war surplus, second hand, such places. Might save you some cash for an excellent tool.

its 2 3/4" opening. i think any wrench would work. here's mine, an old williams with slight angle head. the cat wrench is smaller in total size and angled more. i like this one cause i have hammered on it and it'll take a large cheater pipe. got it bout 10 years back 3.00 at uncle johns flea market. i got a nice cat one but afraid to use it with the bucks they bring on epay. ck epay for 2 3/4 wrenches. good luck.

Those old Williams black finished or Parkerized finish tool are hard to beat. Good place to look for 'em is military surplus yards.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
