Ok, these are the worst rails I have ever seen. I'm sure you guys have seen worse. I was just wondering if anyone had any interesting pictures of rails worn to the extreme... I ran this unit for a few hours and it was far from a smooth ride to say the least...

I'd say the previous owner got his money out of that tractor.

Those are pretty bad but I've seen worse. Seen some where the pin bosses were worn clear into the pins and developing a wear pattern on the back side of the grousers. Maybe they did the torch job on the roller flanges on this one🙄 🙄

If there are teeth still on the sprocket, they must still be good! Its when the teeth are so worn off that you need to tighten the track as tight as possible.
Then and only then are they declared worn out!

🙄

Just being Sarcastic!

😄

Seriously, I have seen them worn down like that!!!

I should have taken picture of the neighbors 7U D4. The sprockets were worn so bad that the teeth were almost flat with the rim. They had welded rebar on the bumps to try and keep the sprocket from slipping in the rails. All three of the L or PL Twentys that I have had, have had bad rails and rollers under them. One had a roller that had gutted it's self and had no flanges left on it. Three tractors and I do not have enough good parts to put one together.
Thanks
Ken

I saw this D7 a few years ago. The bushings were worn through and only existed at the edge of the rail. Here's the sprocket.

They were on our HT4 when we got it.

Yeah, those rails look pretty thin but the sprockets don't look bad. ....and I notice they have the old "plug" master pin. I haven't seen one of those old master pins in years.

Makes me think twice about reaching up under the grouser to feel the pins. At least without looking first... Might take some hide off my hand if they're worn like that.. haha

I just got a 7U D4 that has some links that are so worn you can actually move them with your hand. I was nervous trying to load and unload it. So far, so good!
