Hello you all,
I am about to replace the turbo non my CAT 922A S/N 59A1987 as it burns oil and replace the ferrules and head gasket as it occasionally leaks some water out of the head gasket, especially when it has run only short not reaching the operating temperature.
As it smokes I might also renew the injectionnozzles.
My book says Service group 5M2788 which has been changed into 3S6638 which contains a 2S4442 nozzle.
If i read other posts on this subject I find 2S4442 nozzles to be correct for non turboed engines where mine does have a turbo.
So I am confused now although I tend to go by the book and use the 3S6638 service group.
Who can bring some clarity here?
All reactions wellcome.

Thanks
Nico

According to the parts book on the 933G (same D320T engine) the 3S6638 valve service group with 2S4442 nozzles is correct.

D320 engine turbo or non turbo are the mostly the same. Pistons, heads, etc. are the same part numbers. The 933F is non turbo and 933G has turbo. I have both engines and am sure I have run the injectors in either engine without problems. The injector pump rack can be adjusted. You didn't say if smoke is from too much fuel or just burning oil. The turbo charged engine makes 10 extra horses which really help if your are pushing the machine hard.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
