Which is better? D6 9U or D6 B series?

Looks like he's making the rounds. I get questions from him all the time.

Deas: Off subject kind of sort of... D4Angelo loves driving his D4 with his kneecaps in his face. None of my business what he does with his iron, but I would think he would be more comfortable with his moved back a few inches and seat raised 2-4". One thing about the side tank models, even with myself being close to an Oompa Loompa, they have so much leg room compared to the seat tank model D4s.
Back to the case of the D6s, I primarily own mine for ag use, so they stay in one gear and wide open throttle. I like the 318 for the sound and smoothness, the D6Bs I own with the 333 turbocharged give me a couple more Clydesdales for pulling implements. JM

I didn't mind operating the only U series D4. a 6U. I have ever operated 'coz the seat was set a little higher than that old 2T. The 2T was definitely needed raising as far as I was concerned. I spent a LOTTTA hours on that tractor for 2 planting seasons inna row pulling 2 X 14-disc one-way plows in tandem - not to mention doing a good bit of dozer work with it from time to time.

Then I left that job and landed my favorite rump steak onna 3T series D7 with cable angle blade and Cat CCU - never went back to farms after that - at least until I came over here.

I don't have a favorite, but I'm most excited to have the D6 Cat s/n 9U13414 shown pulling 36' of JD drills in 1954 back again. The old picture was taken on the farm where my dad grew up. My dad's dad and my dad's uncle farmed together in eastern North Dakota, until my dad's dad was killed in an airplane accident. My dad's uncle is  shown driving the Cat and drills. The other picture of the Cat was taken this fall at a plowing day just before I got that D6 back again. I've had my eyes on it for over 30 years. Since it left the Bell farm, it has been owned by 3 other owners before I got it back. I only wish my dad was still alive to see it back on the family farm!! The tractor must have been re-painted, because the old "Caterpillar Diesel" lettering has been replaced by the block lettering from the 1960's. a hydraulic system with 2 outlets was added sometime between the time the photos were taken. I'm still looking for their old D7 that they used for their tillage tractor. Both of the old pictures had 1954 written on the backs of them. [attachment=69625]BELL D7.jpg[/attachment]
