Hey guys i'm starting to get my 1945 d4 dozer up and moving after many years i fired it up last fall. Went to fire it up today had spark not getting gas. I went to pull the top of the carb off above the float and it broke into pieces. Anybody know where i can buy another one. I have already checked ebay with no luck. Thanks oldbluecat

There is a PARTS SOURCE List at the top of the Forum page with several good sources. Most guys source carb parts through Bill Campbell(?) I think. The carb parts on your tractor Pony is similar to the rest of the D2'and D4's. Its early in the morning but if no one replies, I maybe do a SEARCH on the forum later today.

Are you saying the float broke, or the cast aluminum bowl cover? I have never seen a broken cover before, only the iron bodies. You might have the cork float, if so save it for a museum and buy the plastic version from caterpillar. You could try a John Deere parts source as well.

They do come up on ebay, there was one a week or so back that wasn't in very good shape, but probably fixable. I have a JD pony carb core, but I'm not sure if the bowl cover will work on the Cat carb...there's not that many common parts when you compare them, although they are both Zenith carbs.

Also try S&S Tractor in Marcellus if you want to go look one over - not too far from you.
