That's pretty cool. That Baker IH560 might even be the one that I operated on the Wellington wharf on log duty - that name rings a bell for sure. They had some Hough 90s as well

Hi
Was there for the two days you really need to find a map of New Zealand and find Wanaka a beautiful place at aru=ound about 1000ft above sea level with the autumn or fall colours in the background
Make plans and come in 2021 at Easter it will be a great Show
Cheers

Martin, your inbox is full. But to reply, it looks like a good show alright. I think those guys put extra effort into maintaining the larger equipment because it's so expensive to land in the country (purchase plus shipping). The guy I worked for on the wharf bought two second hand Komatsu WA-600s for log loaders and pretty much had to rebuild them. The contract wasn't rich enough to pay for new equipment

Hi as i said i was there for the two days some the big gear came from north of Auckland by road then sea then by road again Auckland to wellington ferry terminal approx 650 kms or just over 400 miles then a 3.5 hr journey by ship again 760 kms 480 miles pretty well all on 2 lane roads over two mountain passes in the Sth Island one being over 3000ft above sea level You have to take your hats off to them for bringing them that far fuel is not cheap $1.73 per litre plus road user charges somewhere in the vicinity at a guess arond $200 to 300 per 1000kms 612 miles but all in all a lot of the gear was shifted ay least 400kms
Well done to those guys
