Hello Sam and welcome!

Very nice looking Two Ton you have there.

There should be a tag on the engine near the magneto, and a tag on the tractor down around the gear shift lever.

Thanks for the pictures.

hi Sam that is a beautiful tractor that has to be an early tractor with the riveted track frames the seat looks like a transition model from when holt and best merged in 1925 the early holts had the rounded seat back also the cutout letters on the radiator sides point to a early tractor again look for the bras plates they will tell the story

We must be grubs in Australia, how the hell do you have a workshop that looks clean and tidy like an up market restaurant or Rolls Royce showroom?

Hi Sam,
your tractor was originally known as the Holt T35 Tractor, Serial Numbers were 25,003-up.
As said above recognizable by the riveted track frames and bucket seat.

I believe they were released in 1921 and ran to 1924 when replaced by the Holt 2 Ton (T35), 70,001-up tractors with cast steel track frames. My Holt T35 Parts Book is Dated June 17, 1922. Form No :- P. L. 128

The link takes you to Swishy's 2 Ton site with a fair bit of information, movies, pictures and links, etc.

http://www.2tontractor.net/home

Scan is from Swishy's site and is a S/No list for both S/No T35's-- both Holt and Caterpillar 2Ton.

Sometimes the unit's approximate S/No can be guessed at by certain Part piece changes that were introduced at particular S/No's and/or removed.

More detailed photo's may help narrow it down a bit if your Engine S/No and Tractor S/No plates are missing.
Engine one is under the magneto mount area and the Tractor S/No plate is on the right side of the Transmission just below the gear shift lever--as someone kindly pointed out above.

Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Eddie B.
