Can someone explain the code or way of telling what year the part was made by using the numbers on the part. Thanking in advance those who respond to my question.

Not sure you can do it off a part number.
If you find a bunch of letters like UOUMOA, this is a date code.
It is decoded

0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
N U M E R A L K O D

0 = N
1 = U and so on.

NKNDOA = 070985 = Sep 7 1985
