I was able to get this old cable carry all given to me yesterday and need help with the identification. I wasn't able to find a tag on it. It's 10' wide and looks well built.

Anyone seen this type of dirt rig before?

Will be getting it home on Friday.

Thanks,

Chappy

I had the ole lady go get my scraper home yesterday, still can't find a tag on it to identify make or model. All it cost was fuel and getting in trouble with the warden for getting it. I have it parked in her driveway as I post. I hope to pull it with a DW10 or my D8 soon.

Hi, Chappy.
Int'restin' jigger you have there. I dunno, M8. I yain't never seen anythin' like it B4. Just lookin' at yer foters, it appears to be an overgrown tumblebug on wheels. I'd reckon anybody who ever operated it would have been praying that they didn't get a puncture in one of those rear tires.

Pull it with the DW10 or the D8? I suspect that you might need to take the front wheels off the scraper and set it directly on the back of the DW10 to get some traction but it appears that there is not enough 'goose' in the gooseneck for that.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Still looking for tag to identify old carryall. I got it home alright, now the fun starts figuring how to connect it to one of my DW10's.

Hi, Chappy.
That U. S. Navy tag may be all that you need to find out wottittizz. Ask some polite questions of their historical archives giving them the details of the tag. From what I have been told, they have a pretty strong fetish about record-keeping.

Hi Chappy,
there is a picture of a smaller but similar design of scraper in this thread.
Cheers,

Hi, Folks.
The things you can find in a scungy old internet Google search:

http://www.agriconltd.com/hydraulic.htm

These people apparently modify existing industrial scrapers, e.g., Cat, LeTourneau, Allis Chalmers-LaPlante, etc., to hydraulics and do other weird things to them as well AND they have an Adams 6 cu, yd scraper in stock - no photos, sadly. How-wevver, there is a thumbnail there of a Cat 491 drawn scraper converted to hydraulics and fitted with TRACKS, front and rear.

Garlic Pete, they also sell an assortment of TIRES. Chappy, you might even find them helpful with your new acquisition's needs for new boots.

I got the old guy home and hope to have him going by October 26 for a fun day I'm
planning on a 32 acre desert piece of land that I'm getting ready for organic farming here in Southern California. If anyone want to operate him just let me know. Thanks again, Chappy

I operated DW10's with scrapers in the 1970's and thought I could couple this old scraper to one of my DW10's.

I have on that used to move a plow around the valley to have it in place for two
D8's to pull. I can't remember how many hours I put in pulling that plow in 1978. I wish that I had some pictures. The D8 in the picture is the engine that pulled the plow and would be used to push this old scraper and DW10.

Is there a Adams equipment page out there?

Thanks,

Chappy
