Hello,
Fiber would be like the original links. I've never seen or heard of plastic clutch links. catskinner

i have plastic in my d8 1h and fiber in the other d8 1h, i think the plastic is better as it wont rot as fast as the fiber and the plastic were cheaper ,, just my 2 cents ,,

If a link has broken best to replace the whole lot and I dont think it is important which type you use.
More important to check the engine alignment to the transmission.

Totally agree, my 7M was badly out of alignment and was a real bearcat getting it right, but worth it.

I wil forward this to the D7 owner , he took the engine out because there were several issues .
Starting gear is very bad , the seal from the drive shaft from the gearbox is leaking and the gearbox lock plungers were broken and bend .

Thank you for your advice . About the engine alignment that is the important thing now .

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
