Gentlemen:

The below list was copied by me from a list supplied in a thread dated January 17, 2002. I don't know who posted it in 2002, but if he would please come forward, I'd like to thank him.

Several people recently have asked for this, so it is with pleasure that I supply their wants.

If you are editing, the D4400 was not used in the 212 grader, the 212 used the D3400 (early) and then the D311 (late)
If we could get a complete list, it should be included in the Tractor ref guide sold by ACMOC

That's the same old list and had errors in it, more than just the 212/D3400 as I recall but I didn't correct mine either. Be nice to get it right and recorded.

If we are making corrections, here are the first few from memory, before I start checking records,

3204 +215ex
3412 +D9L
3616--994, perhaps this should be 3516?
D320 +933G
D311 + 933F
D336 +980
D333T did this exist? it was D333B or the D333C.
D343 +834 dozer.
D346 +773 truck, 660 and 666 tractors.
D3408C +D8L
D4400 should be D4 5T not 5J.
D330 also fitted 951, 955F and 955H.

I'm sure there are more mistakes but this is a start.

Might want to consider a "cut-off" year for this list, maybe along the same 40 year period or less, other wise this list will get huge and compete with the Caterpillar Serial/Product Identification Number Index.

I'm sure there are errors in it. Presented for whatever it is worth. The guy who complied it knew a lot more than I do. Many of the machine models I have no idea what they are. Unless it is a tractor made before 1960, I wouldn't recognize the number. gwh
