Hello all,
I bought a 922B parts machine, 94A16??, and it appears to be in pretty decent shape. Just wondering what other machines used the D330 as I want to keep my eye open for one and possibly get this machine going again. Also, what others, if any, will bolt up to that converter housing?
Thanks, Mark

Your 922B has the turbocharged D320 4" bore engine, not the D330 4.5" bore, the only other machine I remember with that base engine is the 933G but there are quite a few external differences on it.

Not this one catsilver. Or at least its not turbo, and from what I've read, the older ones had the 320.

And on that note, does anyone know why the newer ones were not turbo? Seems kinda backwards to the norm.

Only the first 922's the 59A series had the D320, the 94A and 97A had the D330n/a, and the last of the series the 88J and 74J had the D330c. All were rated @ 80h.p.

From what I see in the Rack Setting Manual the 922 59Axxxx models are the 4.0 x 5.5 D320 engines with turbo also shared with the 933G loader.

The 922B 94Axxxx models are the 4.5 x 5.5 D330 engine, non-turbo common to early D4's, loaders and graders but they trend towards turbo versions.

I have 2 D320 engines for parts. Both have crankshaft and rod problems. Would also concider buying your 922.

Thanks John, But I guess if I don't fix it, i'll keep it for parts for the running one.

Will the D320's bolt right in where the 330 was?

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
