West River Equipment Co.

I have a “Memento To Your Visit to Caterpillar”, a Photo Album Given to the staff of the West River Equipment Co, who toured the Caterpillar plant on December 8, 9, and 10th, 1952. I believe this Company was from Great Falls Montana, but not sure. Have not been able to find out a lot. Does anyone have any information on the Company.

West River Equip. Co. is mentioned in the next to last paragraph as an example of similar law suits.

Found that, in fact I found 4 suits that they were mentioned in, I was hoping to find some history and to see if they were still in business under aother name. The document has a picture of all the men that visited Cat. in 1952.

Apparently they were still doing business in 1959. West River Equipment Co. v. Holzworth Constr. Co., 134 Mont. 582, 335 P.2d 298, 301-02 (1959). Holzworth Const. Co. was formed in 1948, dissolved 1993, I suspect after the death of Dick Holzworth. He operated out of Helena so your hunch that West River was located in Great Falls is probably correct. Here's a link to Dick Holzworth's family history. You may be able to track down a family member who remembers something about West River. There's no record on West River on the MT Sec of State's web site so I'd bet they went out of business long before Holzworth passed away.
