Hi,
I am in the process of removing the Hyster winch from a Cat 22. Before I get myself in more trouble does anyone have an idea of the weight of the winch with a nearly full drum of wire rope?

Thanks
Pete

The Hyster standard towing winch for the 22 is 550lbs, maybe add 100, for wire, oil and dirt.

Wow Pete, you find all of the goodies. I did not know that Hyster made a winch for the 22. I have seen several that were modified from something else but never a Hyster. Is this the 22 that was recently advertised for sale? Good score! Grant.

Josh, thanks for the information. I thought that my John Deere 1025 should lift it but last night in the dark it appeared way too heavy for the hydraulics. This morning in the light I found that I was also trying to lift the back of the tractor with the draw bar!!!! Got it off now.

Grant, I got this one last May northeast of Spokane. It's pretty abused but I was able to drive it on the trailer.by itself. Had some other rare parts and I want the tracks and the snow sprockets, if I can get them off.

Happy New Year to everyone!

Pete

What is the model of Hyster winch? and is there a parts catalog or operator's manual / serviceman's reference for it? Very cool piece of equipment

Neil,
According to what I have seen, it is called a Hyster Standard Towing Winch for a 22. I have heard that there were manuals available.
This is missing the brake wheel and mechanism so I guess that I better start looking for manuals. Didn't appear to be any in the tech library.

I asked if this was a recent score because I had seen an add in the last month or so for a 22 with ice pads. I dont recall seeing many photos of ice pads on 22s, so it stuck in my mind.
