Long story short. I found water in the oil of my cat 951C with the 3304 engine non turbo. I changed the water pump and head gasket. Put new oil and water in her, but did'nt crank it up. Check it the next day and already have water in oil. How or where is the water getting in?😞

Injector seals, Piston liners with electrolysis pits (although Cat liners are very hard and tough) oil coolers, lord forbid cracked block / head. I pull the pan and pressure things up to get some idea of where it is coming from.

Add leaking liner seals and pitted pre-com chambers to the list.

Old Magnet you are a 100% right, Just giving the short version. ----What side of the liner is the water leak coming from --- piston side or packing side. Is the water getting to the pan from an oil galley? Or, down the push tubes? At any rate a lot more work to do.

I would put money on a holed liner in one of these machines.

I guess it's back off with the head! I'm going to pull it off and get it checked out. Then take a look at the liners. How bad is changing the liners in the 3304 engine? And where is the best place to get an in frame rebuild kit for this engine. I'm beginning to learn, one thing leads to another with these old machines.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
