I was wondering about a volume compressor for my D2. Is the transfer pumps that are used for filling gear lube into rear axles the same thing? Mine is an old ARO With pump handle. The handle will push one direction and then spring back. The cat ones I have seen are only slightly different ( that I can tell). I can take a picture of mine but I think I described pretty well.

Hey folks

I was searching the forum to try and find the answer to the same question D2Fred has.

00 grease is runny enough that I think the gear oil pump would pump it. Does anyone have any input?

Might work when it is hot out but the track grease is likely to thick when it is colder. Seems like it would be easier to find a correct volume pump can. The oval Alemite cans or the round ones used for the international crawler seem to work equally well. The liquid pumps like described above work well to flush the oil in the sealed rollers. Might be because there were so many crawlers around here but most any old farm stead has some setting around. Mike

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
