Note that the auction is already under way; it's an online auction that ends on the 20th and 21st which will be when the real action is : )
I really hope Jeff gets good prices for his collection, particularly the ones I'm interested in : ) to keep me out of trouble....
Luckily the reserve on the Seventy is way out of my discretion, but what a unit. I hope it goes to a good home and it would be great, although unlikely, to stay in the area
I only wish this was posted sooner as I was just got back from NYS when this was posted.
I would have scheduled a day to go up there!
today's the viewing day Jeff, so you might need to jump on a plane. I'm headed out there now to be nosy. I see the exhaust flapper is stuck open on the #11 grader which is a real shame. Looks complete too - still if it goes for $100, I'll take it : )
I didn't get a chance to go take a look, even though i was in Canandaigua for the pageant of steam show :Cry::Cry:
Ah that's a shame Dan - we could have caught up at teh show. I completely forgot about Canandaigua til about 4pm yesterday and my Sunday was booked so I missed out on that. I suspect the D2 is not going to get a run this year unless I take it to the local lawn tractor plow day : )
On the other hand, I finally moved 3J4086's rear end to my buddy's place so it's getting close to being worked on. I got a flatbed to haul it - so much easier when someone else does it : )

Neil,
Don't forget there is a show over by D8 Pete's area that you could exercise the D2. I think it is in September but I don't remember the name of the town. I think Chum and the guys were at Brownsville this last weekend.

Don't let that flapper on that 6600 bother you Neil. The one Chapter 3 resurrected sat outside in the wet and often frozen Northern Minnesota woods with no exhaust cover at all for 37 years. After removing the rusted tight pony and removing the injectors the engine 'bar turned' and pushed fuel out the injector lines. After installing a different pony it started and ran remarkably clean. Dan's white shop ceiling did not even turn black from the exhaust. Go for the gold.
