Just wanted to give a shout out to Dave at Weller Tractor in Great Bend ,KS 800-255-9325. Did A great job at locating a used front spindle for my old motor grader
He's a great guy. Not only a black belt but a black belt of finding and delivery parts as well as a black belt of niceness and professionalism. Never had a used part from them that wasn't fully serviceable at reasonable prices. Builds moldboards, too. Another good place to find grader parts was Rays Used Equipment in Nacona Texas. Very nice people. Decals from Associated Graphics in Canton Ohio. They make quality decals and will modify or manipulate them to your request. There's also a Tri State Packing in Scarborough Maine that will make (almost) any gasket and provide any seal imaginable. Down side is they need something for a gasket template. However, if you can provide the information, they can make it. They provide gasket and seal solutions to the Navy for (almost) anything. Standard, non standard.
One thing that I haven't been able to locate is the seal that goes on the king pin. I found a new bearing from Cat, but can't locate the seal. The grader serial # is 8T 12795 SP and the part number of the seal is 4B5177.
Hi, Flatop27.
I found when I was working with a collection of old Cats onna ranch in CA. several years ago that I often had to ask the Cat spare parts guys to look in "Classic Caterpillar" for parts for older machines. Dunno if that still holds.
You could also take the old seal to a bearing and seal supplier and see if they can either cross reference it or find a substitute for it through the dimensions.
Just my 0.02.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
Mine is a 4B5171. Those are available. Did you incorrectly ID?
