I'm getting ready to reassemble parts on my D2-5U pony motor. I'll be putting the carb and magneto back on, as well as the oil filler assembly and the air intake parts for both the pony and main engine.

I have new gaskets - do I need to use gasket sealant? If so, what do you recommend?

Thanks, Todd

I don't use gasket sealant on carbs. Other connections I often use the non hardening permatex.

On exhaust flange gaskets and other take it apart joints I use a coating of high temp anti seize.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
