Hey y'all it has been a little while since I last posted due to internet issues and living in the country. 😆 We have been busy finishing hay baling season and have only had time for a little piddling with the dozer in the last month or so, but we have been doing some cleanup on the ranch. In the last few days hubby has been expanding 2 ponds that went dry about 5 mos ago and makin them bigger. Right now it has rained ALL DAY here in south Texas WOOHOO.....ponds are getting some water but it it going to take some time for them to fill up again. Here is a little video I took of hubby doing some clearing and clean up work on the place. Right now we are waiting on our local CAT parts house to get us a quote on all the parts and items necessary to rebuild the Hyd control unit, she is working slower than the dozer runs and this will be a good step in the rebuild process. Also, we have found a 1953 (corrected year....guess my mind switched numbers lol) D6 9U locally......she is in really BAD shape but has LOTS of parts we can use (rollers, stands, belly pans etc) and a really nice homemade rake. Owner thinks it is worth a whole lot, but she hasn't run in a LOOOOng time and I am looking at it for a parts source.....Wish me luck on talking him into selling her to me. 😊 Hope all is well in ACMOC land and I am still lurking in the shadows, learning all I can from y'all! God Bless and have a wonderful weekend!!

sounds and looks good--some dusty environment there! I assume you replaced the hydraulic filters---have you tried a heavier oil in the hydraulic system? Perhaps a pressure test of the system would tell you more

hey dpendzic.....yes we replaced the hyd filters when we put the unit back on and we are running straight 30 due to the high temps here in S Texas......have not done a pressure test although we did discuss it with OM on another post. It just seems to run slow and doesn't want to keep up with the dozer and it gets slower the longer you run it. Figured a rebuild might be in order, don't know if it was ever done before. So far the partial quote has been reasonable and just waiting on the final quote on the valve and pump parts to see if this is in the budget, but until then we are running her and getting some work done. She does run really well and am glad we picked her to bring home 😊
