The working event planned by the Link Club for the weekend of 19 and 20th June near Wellingborough, Northamptonshire has unfortunately been cancelled due to the electricity company re stringing some high voltage wires across the site.

Hi John, You are unlucky there, no doubt a lot of planning had gone into the event. How is the "new" club going in the UK, is it called "The Link"?
regards
Mike

Hi Mike, Indeed quite a bit of planning had gone it, it's just bad luck about the electricity cables. The site is close to a major sub-station on the national grid.
The new club is going well, thank you. we do indeed call ourselves "The Link Club". We had our AGM Saturday before last and it was very well attended. There was an overwhelming vote of support for what we as a committee are doing.
I would post a few pictures on here, but I have a strong feeling that we are not welcome and that if we did, our thread would be deleted.
Must dash. Take care.
Best Regards, John.

Hi Graham,
Thanks for the pictures.
I'm curious about the D4D...appears it might have a 3-point hitch. any chance of getting some additional pics of it?

OM,
The D4D is probably fitted with a Westlode 3 point hitch,
Westlode was a subsidurey of Levertons the UK Cat dealer at that time,
Levertons was taken over by Finning who now cover the whole of the UK
most D4,D5 and D6 crawlers sold into agriculture were fitted with 3 point linkage, I don't have any pics of that tractor but if I ever learn how to post pics
I could post a couple of the D4E's we have with linkage.

Regards Shovel man.

Thanks for the pictures and info.....don't see 3-points here very often, especially on the D5 &6. Here is one of my favorites (stout) on a D6. It might be from UK also.

Good to hear that the old Cats in the UK have the support and structure of a club once again because that makes our hobby more enjoyable and successful. I'd be surprised if pictures of any old Cat get together from around the world were deleted from this BB provided the images and comments were about old Caterpillars and not political, personal attacks or just simply offensive, as "Old Magnet" said, "tractors don't play politics".
Regards
Mike
