Hi guys, a couple of questions for you.

First off, what year would the serial numbers 2F8086 and 2F9485 be? We were told 1934 and '35 respectively. When matching it to the info from this site, http://www.freewebs.com/bacolcaterpillar22/ , it shows them as '36 and '37. Is that a correct chart?

Also, I'm missing the top cover on the air cleaner stack. For this model would that be the one that has the glass canister or the regular round cover?

Thanks

That chart should be correct.

I believe the part number for your air precleaner is 2B4343.

It was standard on serial number 2F2318 - 2F9999. It consists of a cap, screen, and a cone. It does not have the glass jar.

How would a fella go about finding one of these, does Cat still have them or somebody reproduce them?

Thanks!

I don't think Cat has them. You can call and check.

The best bet is a used one. Post on here with the part number and usually one of the members will steer you towards one.

One of the guys had a posting on a 22 parts tractor. He might have one.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
