I bought this crawler a couple years ago in ok condition, haven’t done much with it until now. Previous owner disconnected the kill wire from the mag and I’m having a tough time figuring out where it’s supposed to go. I’m not seeing anywhere obvious on the mag to put it. Pretty sure they were just using the choke to kill the motor. Makes it no fun to get restarted. Plus I’d rather have it correct. I’m also looking for a key for that kill switch as well if anyone has one to spare. Definitely need front wheel bearings as well so needing a source for that too.

Farmer, you might find a terminal on the far side of the magneto that faces the engine block.

Here is a picture of the switch you need. The first 2 in the row of 3 are 22 switches. The 3rd is a D2 switch but it will work. Good luck as the thimble switch as it is referred to is hard to find.

If you simply want to make it work I have seen old wardrobe keys ground down and made to fit .
The switch works by grounding the magneto to stop the engine.
ie: stop position closed . On position open.
Lance was working on reproducing the thimble type key.

Not to much on the block side of the mag. Best I can figure there is a screw on the back of the mag, under the plug wires that looks out of place but otherwise I dunno where else it’d go. Fuel tank is off getting fixed up, got a small pinhole in it so I’ll have to mess with it next week.

What mag do you have? I have a Bosch and can take a picture if that's what you have.

I have no idea. How do I tell? There’s no markings on it. I’ll take a pic of it today.

Apparently I’m blind, the Bosch tag was right on top.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
