Could someone confirm that the heat valve on my Twenty Two is in the right position to run on gasoline. It's been this way since I've owned the tractor and probably for 50 years before that and I've never given it any thought before but now I'm kind of curious. Would it even make any difference in how the tractor runs if it was in the wrong position?

The owner's manual I have shows you have the valve bolted in the correct position for gasoline.

The way modern gasoline has alcohol in it and freezes the outside of a manifold (surely the inside also).
It probably would not have made a performance difference even if that valve was the wrong way.
All it does is divert the exhaust gases to flow around the intake manifold to help vaporize heavier fuels.

And, if you want a new manifold, I believe production in the U.K. is in the pipeline. I know my manifold is past condemnation

Thanks for the replies guys, it's good to know for sure that it's in the right position even if it probably doesn't make much difference in performance.
