Can one replace the brake linings on a Twenty two without stripping the final drives?

I did replace the left brake band on a CAT 22 thru the brake adjustment hole. I only did it once to see if it could be done. I have since replaced all others by removing all the parts including the final drive. Bill

That's one thing Cat could have done better.on these smaller tractors.

This is how I did it. The problem I had was removing the brake lever pin. I had to burn the brake lever pin out. I saved a lot of time and work. Done in one day with no help. This was on a tractor I needed to repair fast. When these instructions were written they didn't realize that pin has a semi press blind fit. Bill

Bill, thanks for the scan of the 15 service manual. Nice to see these earlier books for reference!
