took a track hoe & loaded it on a drop deck low boy, hauled it home - worked on it several months, made it run, yea!! I will try & post pics. shortly, thanks for your help.

Hi, JAMESCOWGER.
Nice looking machine but I thought you said you had acquired it locally. Your photo looks more like it is nearer to me here in DowNunda.

Does this look better? I 'bigged' it a little too, using a program called GIMP 2.8, which is a freebie: https://www.gimp.org/downloads/ If you want to download it, I would advise AGAINST using the bittorrent download.

Gotta admit though, it did appear to have pretty good 'traction' in your photo to be able to hang on on that 'slope'.

Just my 0.02.

I saved the pic to my computer then used Microsoft Paint to rotate it and save it sitting on the tracks, and then re-posted it LOL. Not a lot of difference from these peepers.

James, you will get a lot of work out of that old dozer and it looks like someone took good care of it. My 14A is a workhorse. On a 15A, don't ever let the fuel get low. The torque converter uses the diesel from your fuel tank. If you run out of fuel, its a lot of work getting it primed.
D-4 7U-43159 with 4S dozer and Cat 40 scraper, D-7 3T-1179 with Cat 7S hydraulic dozer, D-7 17A 13,944, D-8 14A-1160 with Cat 8S cable dozer, Cat 12-99E-4433 Grader. All runners and users.

gotta admit traction is good but not that good, have already done a lot of work to it, fuel system, tank & converter were totally dry when I found it, freeze plugs in pony motor rusted through,
pulled pony motor, replaced freeze plugs , rebuilt mag & carb, pony motor ran, but diesel motor wouldn't start even with fuel pressure, used pony motor to raise blade, pushed it onto trailer & brought it home to shop, discovered fuel valves rusted up & totally destroyed, replaced fuel valves & engine ran, oil pressure was good, had noise in lower end, pulled oil pan & found rear sump torn up, found out previous owner put new radiator & rebuilt tracks prior to his passing 28 years ago, he also apparently rolled new mains & rod bearings in it, when the oil pan was reinstalled they missed lining up the gasket between both 1/2 of the oil pan, they also forgot to put spring, shims, nut & key in rear oil pan that holds rear sump. replaced rear sump, noise went away. still work in progress on rest of machine.
other 'toys' TD7 IH, TD15C, along with my baby the D815A, regards
