Finally making the trip to downunder getting there on May 7 of 2026 and leaving on May 28. Would love to hit a show or two if there are any during that time span. Plan to catch up with some friends as well. Flying into Melbourne but plan on wondering a fair amount.
Unfortunately you will be only days too late for the Lake Goldsmith rally to the west of Melbourne, the Heyfield Vintage Machinery rally usually falls around the middle of May to the east of Melbourne in beautiful Gippsland, depending on how far afield you want to travel.
My goodness! A voice from the past! Old Iron Habit is one of THE first persons I met from this club, neck brace and all!
I would volunteer Deas to be your tour guide, but I wish to remain your friend Roger. LOL just kidding of course!
I would think you would enjoy dipping your rod (no dirty thoughts) and catch some fish somewhere as well?
Whatever you do friend, please have fun for all of us.
JM
check the nhma website close to your trip there currently isnt much listed. for 2026 events.

Hi, OIH.
Well, I'm disappointed in the American justice system that they haven't found and excuse to hang you - - - yet. LOL.
Shows as such are a little thin on the ground in May next year but I'll see what I can scare up for you - - - BUTTT, ONLY 'coz it'z YOU.
Just my 0.02.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
That'd be a walkabout Roger, gotta work on your lingo tween now and then!
Hamilton Pastrol Museum May 16 17 has a show on. 3 hours west of Melbourne. We better watch him if he goes walkabout too much he mightn’t go home. Plenty to see here without seeing a tractor.
Good to hear back from old friends. The lounge lady who is accompanying me is an adventurer so walking about is not out of realm to us. An hour is about all it takes for us to imbark on a 2,000 K jaunt. We have no set agenda and open to most any adventure except the local lockup. Many thanks to those who replied with the information provided. The only thing concrete in our plans are the dates. Thanks all. Will I need earth magnets on my sketchers?
JM. Fishing is on the for sure list. Possible a hunt in New Zealand as well if we can pull it off.
Dont miss Tasmania
Doug
you can hunt in australia too you know. as for organised hunting tours i'm sure their would be some. locals hunt roos(need a permit) wild pigs feral deer feral cats etc. to shoot you would have to be with a local that has a firearm licence. there is also bow hunting. this is just one website: https://huntingtrips.com.au/
