I have a 55 7u ht4 #31435 Can someone link a fitting that I can use to lubricate the track rollers/top roller. Does someone make a fitting to attach to a grease gun/air driven volume compressor?
Here's a pic of the roller if that helps.

Those are filled with 30w oil not grease. No need to add unless leaking. They are a "lifetime" type roller. When the shell wears out then they can be rebuilt.

They can be refilled with oil to perhaps prolong the life of the bearing. Takes a nozzle to stick in and fill from back out to front basically. I think OM posted the picture and info on the official tool recently.

OzDozer posted that he just poured oil in regularly on his not using the nozzle, just depending on rotation to redistribute the oil inside. He wasn't looking for a complete " lubed for life" fill that you would get with the nozzle.

The plugs can be very tight in my experience.

Most folks probably don't bother and just accept the designed life, but on old machines that have sat idle a lot of years I expect it would pay to refill them.
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time😄

Hi Tea,
scans below is for said tool as used at The Dealer etc., also for how it is carried out.

Usually a few hits on the head of the plug with a suitable hammer and punch will ease the taper seat adhesion and allow you to unscrew the plugs a bit easier--there is a Cat socket tool that is made from quality steel that is used to get into the small square plug hole.
You can periodically check the oil level by simply easing out the plug to the last few threads and if oil starts to issue then we used to call the oil level OK.
If no oil, sometimes you may have suction due to temperature differences to last check, we used to ease the plug to the end of the threads and slightly tip the top of the plug out to see if oil is present.
Sometimes warm rollers can build a fair bit of pressure and spit out a carelessly removed plug and douse you with stinking oil. The oil tends to smell and turn black after a long time in service.
From memory, back in the day we used to dye the fill oil with red dye to help highlight leaks.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
