purchased a D6C 74A, left track tensioner has to be rebuilt among other repairs needed (bed rollers and rails are shot),  with the purchase of the dozer was a spare set of tracks CAT 1S1864, per the CAT number these tracks are for a 977 these rails are 8 inches wide and will not fit current bed rollers 7.5 inches wide flange to flange on the D6C.
Since the bed rollers have to be changed will a set of bed rollers from a 977 bolt up to the D6C track frame?? to make this work??
D6C bed rollers original 5M444 single flange and 5M4445 double flange - per the parts manual.
I do not know the 977 bed roller part numbers or if they will fit the D6C track frame, any suggestions or comments would be helpful.
just trying to save some money, using what I have.I will have to replace the D6C bed rollers anyway.

Thank You, Ricky

My understanding is very shortly after Cat came out with the 955 based on D4 and 977 based on D6 tractors they found the loaders were harder on tracks so put D6 track on the 955 and D7 on the 977. If this is the way it is, I would guess there is no easy way to do what you are hoping to do. So somebody prove me wrong so Ricky can get this loader loading again.

Gemdozer is a Canadian that's first language is French. But he is easier to understand than some that only use English.😉 And I was not thinking of that down under English originally. But with further thought it can confuse me too sometimes. Some that levee words or parts of words out and no punctuation marks I generally don't try to just skip .

I cannot say as I don't know the time line of the loaders to the dozers. As well as Cat slipping the D 5 into the mix in the 60's and starting a new in-between size of track. The pre 1960 D6 track is 6.5 inch pitch, and then D5 is 6.91 inch pitch and D6C is bigger I think 7 or 7.5 inches. Somebody must know without having to look at the parts books
