For $20 000 you would want a brand new undercarriage and a pretty straight machine.

Here in the west there is always ALOT of interest in small dozers at machinery and clearing sales. they are reasonably rare and always sought after. And CAT machines comand a premium.

I think $20000 for a D2 would not be impossible to achieve here on the right day to the right buyer.

you could flip noice D2's all day long for $10 k.

Wow. I see that the Aus $ is on par with the US $,so that is an amazing price. I don't think you could get much more than $10k for a cherry one here.

Not surprising based on market values I've seen in Tasmania for D2s, which basically start at 6k for a runner requiring a tidying up, new track gear etc to 15k for one that is like new or restored - with newish tracks, paint, decals etc.

I recently had the spookey experience of a bloke dropping in wanting to buy my D2. He basically offered me 10k as it sat in the shed - disassembled radiator, canopy, belly pan etc etc - all the while whining about the premium prices that Cats bring!! So looking at mine I know the previous owner bought it for @4k, sold it to me one year later after repairing the pony for 6k and within months I was offered 10k.

Mmmm I think I need to invest in more Cats😖mokin:.

PS I wonder why someone with deeper pockets has not gotten into exporting them from the US where they are easily half the price than in Aus and NZ??
