I'm needing to tighten my right track a little on my D4. First off excuse me for being somewhat new to this!! Is the process to loosen nut#1 in picture then tighten #2? I've been soaking it daily for the past week with penetrating fluid to get ready to attempt this!! HA! Also, I now see why most people make their own tool out of offset steel, as there is no way to get much of a wrench on this. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

the 2 bolts through the Yoke?
Loosen them so that #2 can turn inside of the yoke easier.
The split yoke acts as a clamp.

The presence of the locknut leads me to think that the threads are gone in the original adjusting nut. It seems to be a common problem.

Does anyone have a pic of the track adjustment wrench? It has to be massive I would think. My D47U needs tracks adjusted. Thanks, OT

Hello , yes , rust is the common problem . This is the wrench you need . If necessary you can put a pipe on it .The stroke you can make is short , rotate the wrench 180 degrees after each stroke .

A good thing is to wrap around the big nut with oily cloths after you made the adjustment . Of course , clean everything very well .

Thanks Johan, At least now I know what I'm looking for. That thing is massive as I suspected.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
