My question is what else used the same track. I know the 35 grew into the 40 and then the RD6, and a lot of D6 parts can be used on a 35. But I have the idea in my head the Cat 35 had the same track as a Cat 30, but completely sure on that. But ether way as Cat 30's and Cat 40's and Rd6's give you more of a chance find the idler parts than just looking for another 35.

Well I do have an RD6 that needs an undercarriage, but just eyeballing it, this stuff seems too small. I haven't done any actual measuring. Maybe I will look around for parts and see what I can find for it. I've been going back and forth on it, so just looking for some reinforcement
Some interesting engineering on how somebody went in to repair the front idler bushings. I guess it was easier to just cut it and bolt it back together rather than breaking tracks and pulling the recoil assembly.

Cable Dozer - could this have caused the front idler problems?
I would wonder about the impact of a dozer blade dropping - lot of force on the equalizer spring and track frame, front idler was not intended to take that impact.
Thirty will accept Thirty-Five Track, I would not expect idlers or rollers to be the same though.
It would appear someone attempted to weld those broken castings, maybe with some of the better materials today, it could be done. Maybe even machine some "fishplates".
Hi, Dieselholic92.
Thanks for the photos. Much appreciated.
That rig looks a bit like a partially assembled IKEA kit. The dozer blade would certainly help to explain the damage to the front idler brackets but, if you restored it as dozer, it would be pretty well assured of being an 'only one known' at most shows.
Just my 0.02.

its certainly had a hard life. they might have been cut with a torch and poorly welded back in to get to a bushing. well some one started to do it up.
